How Phase Works

Where Phase Fits In A Project

Phase Projects exists to support project teams when uncertainty becomes a risk. We are not tied to a single project phase, discipline, or delivery model. Instead, we are engaged where decisions need to be made on verified conditions – whether early in concept, during design development, or late in preparation for site or fabrication.

Our role is to establish the physical reality, define how things interact, and help teams share a common understanding before decisions are made and work begins.

When to use us

when teams bring phase in

Phase is brought in at different points, depending on where uncertainty sits within a project.

That may include:

  • early-stage optioneering, when teams need to understand what physically exists before committing to a direction

  • mid-project verification, when existing information or drawings cannot be trusted

  • pre-fabrication or pre-installation, when interfaces must fit first time

  • ahead of site mobilisation, when the cost of change becomes high

The common factor is not timing — it is consequence.
Phase is engaged when assumptions need to be replaced with verified reality

Our involvement

What Changes Once Phase Is Involved

Project teams gain a verified basis for decisions:

  • Information is verified rather than assumed.
  • Interfaces are checked rather than hoped-for.
  • Decisions are based on measured reality, not inherited drawings or partial records.

This reduces rework, limits late-stage surprises, and gives engineers and project managers a verified basis to move forward — knowing that what has been agreed will hold up on site.

We are different

how this differs from traditional providers

Phase Projects is not a capacity provider, a draughting resource, or a standalone survey company.

We do not exist to simply ‘take tasks off your list’. We exist to reduce risk at decision points.

Our work combines verification, engineering judgement, and shared understanding – applied selectively, where it adds value. That is why Phase is often brought in for complex, high-consequence projects, and why our involvement is typically short, focused, and decisive rather than embedded long-term.

The connection

How This Connects to Our Solutions

Our solutions are built around common project situations where uncertainty creates risk — from rig-to-subsea campaigns and brownfield upgrades to asset verification, subsurface risk, and fabrication readiness.

Each solution brings together the right mix of capability to establish verified understanding before commitment is made.
